How your app is built

Your app in five steps

Transparent and predictable — you always know where your project stands.

  1. Intro call

In a free video call we talk, with no obligation, about your app project, your goals and your requirements. You get first suggestions on how it could be built, and at the end I give you a rough estimate of the effort and the time needed to develop your app.

    • We get to know each other
    • You introduce me to your app project
    • Advice on how to build it
    • Rough estimate of the effort and duration of your app project
  2. Concept & quote

In the second step, a concept and the design are created, including a clickable prototype of your app. Once you have signed off on the concept and design, you receive a final, transparent quote with a milestone-based timeline.

    • Concept created for your app
    • You get a clickable prototype
    • We fine-tune it together
    • Final quote for developing your app
  3. Development

Your app is developed in short stages, usually in two-week sprints. That gives you the chance to give feedback regularly: after every milestone reached, you receive a preview build to try out.

    • Development of your app
    • Short sprints
    • Feedback loops
    • Milestone-based preview builds
  4. Testing & launch

The development process includes continuous testing, be it unit tests, integration tests or UI tests. Before your app is released in the app stores, it is tested on a wide range of real devices.

    • Automated tests
    • Manual user testing
    • Release on the Google Play Store
    • Release on Apple's App Store
  5. Support & updates

On request I provide regular updates or take care of further development, so that your app always stays technically up to date. Since it is not only releasing an app that matters but also running it, we can optionally agree on a support contract, a so-called service level agreement. It sets out precisely how faults in your app will be resolved should they occur.

    • Service level agreement
    • Regular updates
    • Further development of features
    • Bug fixing

About me

Jörg Voyé

Founder & Owner

I help companies bring new app projects to life — from the first concept through to release — and modernize existing legacy applications.

For app development on Android and iOS I rely on modern Kotlin Multiplatform technology: a shared codebase lets both platforms be built faster and more cost-effectively, without giving up native performance.

Across more than 12 years in IT and software development I have worked in a range of roles — project management, product management and consulting — for mid-sized companies as well as in international corporate environments, gaining extensive experience of the complete lifecycle of software applications.

That professional experience is exactly what makes the difference when working with companies: I support clients end to end on their app projects, from concept through development to launch and operations.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Answers to the questions that come up most often in a first call.

How does a typical project work?

It starts with a free introductory call in which we discuss your app project and clarify your requirements and goals. Based on those requirements, a concept and design for your app are created. Once you have approved them, the app is developed in short stages. At regular intervals you receive a working build to try out — all the way to launch in the app stores.

What does it cost to develop an app?

It depends on the scope of features — every app is different. With Kotlin Multiplatform, Android and iOS share a common codebase, which significantly reduces development and maintenance costs. Once the app concept and the design have been agreed together, you receive a final, transparent quote.

How long does it take until the app is finished?

A first usable prototype (MVP) is often achievable within a few weeks, depending on the scope. Because I develop in short stages, you receive a working build at regular intervals. We define the concrete timeline together in the concept.

What about updates and support?

On request I support your app beyond release — with updates, bug fixes, adjustments to new operating system versions and the implementation of new features. That keeps your app up to date over the long term.

How do we communicate during the project?

For communication during the project I like to use MS Teams or Slack — whichever you prefer. A dedicated channel holds all the requirements, design templates and documents. There you can also transparently follow the progress of your app's development in the stored project plan. Whenever a previously defined milestone is reached — usually every two weeks — we have a joint video call.
